Signal Sponsors WABA 50 States Ride for the Third Year

Saturday, September 7th rain or shine

Signal Financial has been a part of the DC-area community for over 70 years. We strive to enhance the financial—and physical—fitness of all of our members. That’s why we are proud to announce our sponsorship in one of the Capital City’s most exciting events, the Annual WABA 50 States Ride!

About the Ride

The 50 States and 13 Colonies Ride is an annual celebration and ride through every corner of the District of Columbia. Join 700 bicyclists and push your limits to bike 62 or 15 beautiful (and hilly!) miles, through every Ward of the District and on every avenue named for a state — or the original 13 colonies. The 50 States Ride is a one-of-a-kind community event where you can make friends and cheer them on during a day that shows us parts of the city we love that we don’t see or ride every day.

As one of WABA’s biggest events of the year, the 50 States Ride helps further WABA’s mission and impact. First, the ride embodies the spirit of community, togetherness, and geographic inclusion that is core to WABA’s mission of growing bicycling throughout the region. Second, your registration supports WABA’s outreach, education, and advocacy work that makes bicycling more safe, fun, and accessible in the District and beyond.

Now, the Details

The ride begins and ends in Adams Morgan, with check-in at Walter Pierce Park and an after party at Mellow Mushroom. WABA will provide snacks, water, and other goodies at regular pit stops along both routes.

We will have a healthy and hearty lunch option at a halfway pit stop, certain to fuel you up for the second half of your ride. (A vegetarian option will be available.) If you don’t want to worry about carrying your own lunch with you, or finding a restaurant near the lunch pit stop, purchase the lunch option in your registration (most people do!).

Please be aware that roads will be open as usual during the ride, so you will be riding with traffic in many sections. Ride marshals and pit stop volunteers will be ready to cheer you on and answer questions throughout the day. Helmets are mandatory.
